Roger Hagarty – Roger’s Music Nottingham
Nearly four years ago, Roger Hagarty from Ilkeston opened his own ‘Roger’s Music’ superstore based at Nottingham’s ‘Glade Business Centre’ after 35 years serving and teaching aspiring musicians at the former Fox’s and Williams Music Stores. Roger introduced free weekly evening seminars for his customers that have continued as part of Roger’s Music, while also offering free introductory lessons.
Roger, who begun learning the piano at just age 7, and clarinet a year later, sang with his father as a teenager in the Sandiacre Male Voice Choir and met his wife Pam while rehersing for the Gondoliers in a mixed choir at Ilkeston Grammar School.
A highly respected keyboard exponent who toured in the 1970s with the likes of Slade, Mud, Rod Argent, Elkie Brooks, Robert Palmer and Acker Bilk as part of Nottingham’s pop band ‘Station’. Roger’s new premises offers free parking and two floors of impressive instruments, both new and used. Visit the new showroom any day of the week and enjoy a cuppa and biscuits whilst exploring the wonderful range of Yamaha instruments.
